šŸ”„There’s not enough panic on our titanic.🧨

I have to say that I try to be positive about the topics of environmental crisis and trying to save the planet and sustainability and consciousness and how it is all evolving.

Whenever I post about a crisis or something ā€˜bad’ that is happening I try to counteract that with a positive post.

Because I want to be as positive and optimistic as I can.

And I want YOU to feel optimistic as well.

Because I think to make these big important changes happen, it is important that we feel

optimistic, empowered, capable, hopeful and resourceful.

We have to feel like it is within us to drive the change.

That we are the impact.

That we are the change.

Like there so much hope that there is nothing else left to do than moving mountains to make this world a better place.

So feeling scared and helpless can be very unproductive.

Because it can be so debilitating.

I have had many times where I just laid in bed and cried.

And I mean that.

I’m not just throwing this in here to make a dramatic point.

I often feel so angry, helpless, anxious, depressed, about this topic.

Angry because I see the unnecessary environmental destruction that is so devastating and most reasons to destroy our nature are so trivial

(cheap clothing, palm oil, certain highways that aren’t necessary, pollution through chemicals that could be banned in a heartbeat, dangerous treaties for monetary gains,…)

Helpless because the elites and driving forces of the destruction seem untouchable. Through their wealth, power, influence.

Anxious because I am scared about the future.

What it will look like. What this planet will be like.

Depressed because I think back to times where the world seemed

ā€˜more intact and healthier’ on the environmental level.

Where there was no pandemic and people walked through the streets without masks and the climate crisis wasn’t as noticeable in everyday life.

Some of you may have stopped reading.
Because it can be uncomfortable and painful reading these things if you are scared as well.
It can make you scared because reading that others have these fears as well, confirms them and brings them back to your consciousness.

ā¬‡ā¬‡šŸ’š

But I will tell you that, as uncomfortable as they are, that you have these fears is a good thing.
It is a good thing because you are part of those people who recognize the severity of our planets condition.
You will be open and receptive to seeing the issues and will probably be eager to be a part of the solution.
And that is so so valuable and important.

Coming back to the title of this blog: ā€œThere’s not enough panic on our titanic!ā€

I read this on a sign on the latest fridaysforfuture protest.

And I thought it was a great sentence.

Just think about what the world would look like if everybody was as scared and educated about the environmental crisis.

If every big bank, lobbyist, government, fossil fuel-, fast fashion- or fast food chain had this awareness and fear – that was so powerful - that their conscience would leave them no choice but to completely change their ways of producing, governing, doing business.

That would seriously change the world.

But they obviously aren’t.

Just like the people who have clean tap water and still buy plastic bottles.

Who are to lazy to bring their own shopping bags and produce bags to stores.

Who are to lazy to buy different brands or look around in aisles for more sustainable choices.

Who don’t ā€œlikeā€ using soap bars.

Who don’t want to compost in their backyard.

Who refuse to reduce their consumption or shop secondhand.

Even when they,

Have the RESOURCES.

The EDUCATION,

constant SUPPORT and REMINDERS,

the OPTIONS and PRIVILEGE to

CHOOSE BETTER.

And they don’t.

Why?

Because they are to COMFORTABLE,

OBLIVIOUS,

LAZY,

IGNORANT,

ARROGANT,

RELUCTANT,

. . .

Whatever combination of factors it is.

IT SUCKS.

Because the people who research and educate themselves, who worry and sign petitions and call their representatives and protest,...

They are carrying a bigger weight because of the ones who are not part of the movement.

And not just that, the entities who are ignorant about the crisis often don’t just sit back and watch us environmentalists do their thing, but they put stones in our way to try and stop all of the actions THAT WOULD HELP SAVE OUR MUTUAL PLANET!

🤯🤯

Because their money, power, economic gains, are threatened by it.

To make this snappy and even make it sink into the most ignorant brain:

IF WE DON’T HAVE A PLANET ANYMORE THERE IS NO MONEY.

THERE IS NO ECONOMY.

YOUR POWER POSITION IN THE WORLDS MOST POWERFUL BANK DOESN’T MEAN SH**.

YOUR CORPORATE LAWYER CAN NOT BAIL YOU OUT OF A COLLAPSE OF OUR ECOSYSTEMS.

Because Nature doesn’t care about you bull****.

Nature can not be bribed with money or deals or fantastic interest rates.

If y’all are powerful, smart business men:

Make the environment your business.

Because making good deals in favor of the environment – may save your/our behinds.

Making bad deals regarding the environment – will sure as hell burn every stock market to the ground.

The time to rob Peter to pay Paul is over.

You better pay Peter back BIG TIME.

Even if it means giving him every penny.

Because the time will come where he has nothing left to give

and you can’t rob him forever.

It is time to give back.
